I do not have any other digi software at this time but I will be adding something for access to nnn0kpo@... most people are using Airmail under WINE I've see a packlink-unix user group on yahoo but there is not a lot of activity yet. I would prefer native code over WINE aps my self.

Well Randy I see everyone jumped right in here.
I would suggest you install minicom to control the pk-232 ::
sudo apt-get install minicom
Google "minicom linux tutorial" to see how to set it up. I haven't used
minicom since packet days and I just don't remember the finer details.
Somewhere along the line you will need a USB/serial converter. I
bought mine at Wally World. Ebay is also a choice if you are not in a
hurry. Keyspan is mentioned quite often, but they may be pricey.
Rig control can be set either with hamlib or the rigCAT xml. There
are several users that have had good luck setting up the Kenwood.
Are you using your current setup with any other digi application ?

questions. My Grandpa always said there is no such thing as a dumb
question....only dumb answers.
I have no idea about win-link, maybe someone here can chime in.
