John Mayr's second single from his album is now playing on the radio. It
doesn't have any real connection to Carroll other than the word "Wonderland"
in the title, a word NOT coined by Carroll.
2) *The Anatomy School* by Bernard MacLaverty (pp. 177-78)
Two characters have the following conversation, recalling Mr. H. Dumpty:
"To be a lame duck is fairly OK. Ducks fly. Ducks swim a lot. To be
lame is only a minor irritation for a duck."
"It's a term of speech, Foley. No matter what its origins are, it means
to be seriously disadvantaged."
"In some departments. He was a born loser. People use words to mean
what they want to mean."
"If it was a hen, sir, it would work better. A lame hen."
