Tour of the Historic Freemont Gate Entrance of Elysian Park
First in a Series of Reoccurring Tours
Saturday, March 10 at 10.00 A.M.
The walk will start at the Freemont Gate entrance to Elysian Park and
will wrap around and surmount Buena Vista Hill.
The tour will cover the histories of the park, Los Angeles River
(well, not everything but a little bit), early Los Angeles water
supply history and sites, Pigeon Farm, Figueroa Street & Pasadena
Freeway, Chavez Ravine, the Elysian Park Auto Camp and the Cornfield
Length: 2 miles, 1.52 hours.
Meeting Location: Park on Elysian Park Drive at North Broadway (just
west of the North Broadway Bridge over the Los Angeles River).
Sponsored by the Echo Park Historical Society in conjunction with the
Citizens Committee to Save Elysian Park.
