Can anyone help the much-honored American Kiting Association, on this issue?
I am glad to be a member of AKA wish I could do more.
I have no details other than below.
If there were no injuries or 'real' threat of any kind by the buggier, than
it will likely be thrown out before it gets to Court.
David, my one recommendation is to Call the District Attorney
it is going to, to find out status of this nuisance ticket.
No harm, No foul.
BTW, Lifeguards ticket kiteboarders here in Belmont Shore in Long Beach for

>>Attention Southern California Kiters!
>>We have a serious situation developing on our local beaches. A local AKA
>>member has been charged with violations of the California Code of
>>Regulations, for buggying on state property at Carlsbad State Beach in San
>>Diego. The charges are: CCR 4319, Games and Activities which endanger the
>>public, and CCR 4355, Operating a vehicle on a beach.
>>This is both an opportunity and a threat to our favorite pastime. State
>>regulators could outlaw beach kite flying altogether, or could establish
>>prosecutorial legal precedent by classifying a kite buggy as a vehicle and
>>restricting their access to recreational venues and public lands
>>everywhere, or applying taxes or fees.
>>AKA does not track the profession of our members. However, if any of you
>>are aware of a kiting attorney or a recreation specialist attorney please
>>let us know right away.
