He's right about the similar construction but it stops there. Kites
can take a lot of abuse on water and most damage is due to the
association of materials that don't work together.
Don't take me wrong, you can explode a kite in any crash but you have
about a 1000% better chance of doing that with a kite that's already
coming apart due to bad material choices (small undetected rips at
different material connections, etc...)
That said I can still ride the same if I went back to an AR5 or a Wave
Ex, the riding is just less comfy.
