Harrah's Casino - Atlantic City New Jersey - NOW thru August
The Elvis Story starring Jamie Aaron
This much I can tell you, according to Harrah's Casino theater personnel,
The Elvis Story "has been sold out since it's very first night, July 5th!"
Full House - 1235 people each night - that's what they told me Thursday
night at that evening's performance. They also told me that they have
never seen or heard so many people talking about a Show, even though they
have had big names there many times, like this one....and the talk is about
JAMIE! We also heard that from several waitresses and
hotel front desk people.
With only 2 1/2 days working with the completed stage set, learning
routines, the progression of songs, costume changes, which are very quick!,
Jamie performed the VERY FIRST NIGHT like he had been doing this Show for a
quite some time!!!!
The make up is great - and will get even better as time goes along.
Jamie has virtually taken this show to a new, higher level than it's been
before, already. Such energy! Don't get me wrong, the gentleman who
has been doing it for 10 years, Martin Fontaine, was very good.....
Comments from new fans after the shows, who had never seen Jamie
before all saying he's the closest thing to Elvis that they have EVER seen in
moves, looks, talking and that voice! (I heard 'that voice'
remark tons of times already here). I would not normally have passed
those remarks along to any of these groups but he has made me so proud of him
and amazed at how quickly he grabbed this performance and made it his own!
I never even expected him to be able to do that so quickly. The Show
producers were amazed and quite pleased, as well. Several folks said "he
should be doing the lead in All Shook Up on Broadway!"
He came out after the Show on Friday night to sign autographs and the crowd
loved it. He is sharing his dressing room there tonight with Jay Leno
tonight and on August 6th, Tony Bennett will be sharing it with him.
Pretty cool, huh! (no Elvis Story shows on Saturday nights)
So much more on this later, more so on Jamie's group on the net but just
had to pass along the fantastic, fabulous news. Harrah's is thinking of
extending this show thru September.
Standing ovations (at least 4 on opening night alone) and he's just getting
I've attached a couple of pictures from Jamie's very first performance
on July 5th.
