Hi June - I just wanted to
tell you a funny story in connection with our trip for Elvis' star dedication
Don and I were standing around, talking
to people at the ceremony, and a lady comes up with her program. She
asked if I would autograph her program booklet and I said yes. I never
thought anything of it - there are times when I book shows with other
celebrity impersonators (like a mini Legends in Concert type show)
and after the show, people come up and have all the impersonators sign
the book, and as the producer of the show, they have me sign the book
I thought maybe she was having
everyone at the ceremony sign the book, and then luckily, I glanced at
it. I saw she only had signatures from Sonny West, Joe Esposito, Sammy
Shore, etc., and I didn't think she really wanted an autograph from
little old me.
I couldn't think of how to say what I
wanted to say, so I asked her 'Oh, do you really want my
autograph? I'm not anybody'!!! (duh, what a great
response!!) And the woman said 'oh, aren't you one of
the actresses who starred with Elvis in a movie'? And, sadly, I
once again told her I wasn't anyone.
so, she took her booklet and walked away,
and both of us were sort of disappointed!
And then I laughed to myself thinking,
yeah, she probably thought I played Elvis' mom or grandma or
love you all!
PS - Sue, the president of the Viva Las
Vegas club got some great pictures of the star installation on her site.
