I'd be very happy to assist in your anti-war efforts...
It looks like it's 3 hours from Louisville to Terre Haute... I'll leave at 9:30 and assume that will get me there in plenty of time...
Please make the check out to:
Boilermakers Local 484 Solidarity/Defense Fund
300 Main Street
Meredosia, IL 62665
If we're outside, I'll need a sound system... a boom mic stand with vocal mic (i travel with a mic if that makes it any easier for you) and a separate input for my guitar ... i can give you a 1/4" out or i have a line transformer that allows me to plug my guitar into a mic cable.
If we're inside, it's not as essential to have a PA, but it would still be nice.
Please have some water on hand for me too.
That should do it!

Subject: Request to play at rally in Terre Haute on Debs Dinner day
I have enjoyed your playing at the Debs dinner for several years and am happy to see you are coming back. As it happens our local anti-Iraq war group is having a short rally (40 minutes) at 1 p.m. on the same day. It is short because we will be going out into the community door to door to get signatures for HJR 35 (Lynn Woolsey's bill) to end the war. It will be a statewide rally, the first we have tried to do outside of Indianapolis. We are expecting about 200 people. Would it be possible for you to sing at our rally? It wouldn't be a whole set, two or three songs at most. I know you have to save your voice for the plaque dedication and the dinner that evening. We can offer you fifty dollars for playing.
Sincerely, Cathy McGuire, Organizer for Terre Haute Stop War on Iraq.
