Sally Brooks-Schulke of
the Evergreen Valley Garden Club organized a successful bulb planting
day at the Evergreen Library from 12noon to 1pm.
16 volunteers, from young to young at heart, pulled weeds, dug holes,
and planted several hundred daffodil bulbs and about 50 California
native bulbs in the bed by the entrance to the parking lot. The bulbs
will flower from February through April and should be visible to all who
visit or drive by the library. They will return year after
year each spring.
The bulbs were provided by the Keep San Jose Beautiful program.
Thanks to all for participating and donating their time towards
beautifying our library.
