I'm taking one of the kids camping tomorrow, so I made a kids-sized
hammock yesterday. 38"x72". Cool thing...this is the length of
most sleeping bags.
So I'm gonna sew button-holes into the head and foot of an extra
Coleman bag I have laying around and thread the support ropes
through. Instant Pea Pod! Not as many options for ventilation, but
not bad for an insta-fix.
Has anyone ever cut up an regular old sleeping bag, sewn in elastic,
and made an underquilt? Seems much easier than making one from
scratch if you have an extra bag laying around, or can get a decent
