I like this. Between Rick's pod and the Hammock Pants ya'll are pretty
close to something I used to do. Essentially I made a very long tube tent,
about 4' in diameter and about 12 feet long. This went around the hammock
and hung from a ridge cord. The ridge cord was complicated too. There was
one between the trees, and then two more a little lower that went AROUND the
trees, so that when you put the tarp over it there was a little 'roof'. The
tube had tie points at each 'mouth' and one end was tied to one of the
support trees. The other end was the 'sliding' end. I'd get into the
hammock and pull the cords that went around the other support tree and
'extend' the tube around the hammock. I was then totally enclosed. For
ventilation I had 'ports' cut out in strategic places and 'window covers'
that would tie in place or could be rolled away to allow ventilation.
I think that now with silnylon and Velcro, such a creature could be made
lighter and better.
