Just wondered is anyone else playing with Monkey ( http://www.monkeycoder.co.nz/
)? It's a very neat little package - an OO language that targets a bunch of platforms, including Android, Flash, and HTML5, as well as native Windows and Mac. Sign up with the Apple or MS dev programs and you can also develop for iOS, Windows phone and XBox..
I bought the full version (no point waiting as I knew I would get it eventually) and it does what it says on the tin. My app developed in the demo ran straight away on Android emulator and Flash. It is still early days but I think it will get a good deal of community support with extensions etc.
There are downsides. The language won't appeal to everyone. The IDE is not great, though an alternative is already available. Worst aspect is probably that debugging is always going to be a nightmare, but I think that comes with the cross-platform territory.
Still, it's a lot of fun to play with if you're interested in this kind of thing! I looked at HaXe a while ago when Philippa mentioned it, but it didn't really appeal.
