interesting read, coming from a hunter.
slob hunters, like air pollution, are always with us.
there has to be some sort of satisfaction they get, dumping the offal
and carcasses in public places, knowing that other folk will happen
along, perhaps with small children, thus all get to share the cultural
letting a head drag on pavement is just a new twist - sorta like all
the Garfield dolls we see sticking out from car trunk lids... its just
a way to announce to the world; "see, i'm a lethal-weapon of a dick-
head and i dont care who knows it!"
but i have learned to expect such things from such people.
in the final analysis, its not the meat they are after, which could be
gotten for far less expense than the cost of guns, beer, ammo,
SUvehicles, beer, inter-state caravan transportation, lodging, camping
gear, beer, cell-phones, night-scopes, beer, etc, etc.
nor could it be the hides or heads, which used to be mandatory
components of Blue Collar interior decor..
its just the thrill of the kill.
i stopped keeping score of all the shot-up dead deer, not even stripped
of meat, which i'd find in the Black Hills, both in and out of season.
however, i have a new digital score card which keeps me especially busy
this time of year: tracking hunters killed or seriously wounded by
their own kind.
and i must say, those numbers are looking good!
