The names of my friends!!
I saw these 2 recently:
An Afghani movie, so powerful , engaging, and touching,
A simple movie , depends on a powerful screenplay and charming directing,
Portraying the Taliban era in Afghanistan .
I only have one reservation, the movie makes it seem like Taliban actions are the Islamic right ways! Which
are defiantly not. These actions are so extreme, and sabotage the image of Islam, that's why there should've been a reasonable Islamic Character to show the difference!
Another movie that sabotages the Image of Islam, on its own unique way!!
Anyway, I won't start defending Islam, I just want to say that the movie is full of contradictions, especially about this Majed character, and Hijab is not only about covering the hair, I mean come on, you can wear a bathing suite and can't show your hear!!! that is not bending rules, that's breaking them!! AND it's ridiculous. The movie could've been about a Muslim girl that doesn't wear Hijab, and there's a lot of those, why mention Hijab and make fun of it!!!
The movie , regardless of its silly notions, is good, it has its own charm, can be attractive, and entertaining, loved the Arabic sets , atmosphere , and the score is bgreat. but Sabah can't appeal to
Muslims, no matter how western they are, like a friend of mine, who when I asked about it, he actually told me not to watch it , mentioning the things I just did, But I had to see for myself!
On my big fat Greek wedding, the boyfriend converted, because of love,
I was hoping to see the boyfriend do the same here , I get some silly notions myself some times, ha!!
Anyway, I'd like to know your opinion about these 2 movies.
I hope that some of you have seen both or one!!
