FiberNet is for information exchange among people interested in fiber arts, crafts and technology. Subjects related to fiber production as in animal husbandry or plant fiber production are excluded as they are addressed many other places.
FiberNet was started by Ron Parker in 1990 as a computer BBS from a very rural sheep farm in Minnesota. Users had to dial a long-distance phone number to connect. Happily Minnesota is home to many small telephone companies and two with toll-free phone connection became Internet links, so FiberNet moved to 'the web' changing providers as time went by. Now FiberNet is a Yahoo! Group - same tradition with a new provider.
Stay on topic is the rule. Selling of unwanted personal fiber-related items is allowed. Commercial selling is not allowed. More detailed information can be seen at http://hem.bredband.net/ronpar/fninfo.html
