My dear dear Nicky had to be put out of his misery yesterday morning.
He was 15 years old, and the dearest, most loving creature ever born.
I miss him with my entire heart and soul. He was suffering, my poor
baby, and I knew at his second tapping that he had accumulated 400 cc's
of fluid in 7 days despite being on oral lasix and spirotactone and
enaprinil. His digestive tract was not absorbing food either and I
guessed that his meds were likely not working or absorbed either, so I
purchased 7 sub-q injections of lasix and gave him 2 doses (which
seeemed to be working) before I realized it was all too late. He could
no longer rest nor tolerate constant incontinence, ascites and muscle
wasting. I was prolonging his death. So he was peacefully put to rest
and I am utterly heartbroken without him.
I don't know if this is legal so forgive me if it is not, but I would
like to donate his remaining lasix pills (about 20 at 12.5 mg) and 6
.25 cc lasix injections and about 53 Enaprinil pills to whoever would
pay for the cost of shipping them or could pick them up (I live in
Sherman Oaks, CA).
If not, any suggestions as to what i shoud do with them would be
appreciated. I have tons of Nicky's meds left including Sam-E
(Denosyl)for his liver.
We would want someone else to have these arather than thrwo them away....
