Here is something cute: from the Rome Opera House site, "il bis di
There is a Prima della prima upload from the Rome Tosca on
OperaShare. I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but there are several
clips on YouTube and they look wonderful. Even rehearsing in street
clothes and glasses, Marcelo gives it everything!
There are many Marcelo clips on YouTube including the amazing Act II
finale from the 2001 Verona Traviata with Mosuc. Even though it is
filmed from a great distance with a shaky camera, we should be
grateful to the photographer, for as far as I know this is the only
video of Marcelo's Alfredo. This scene is extraordinary; the
electricity between Mosuc and Marcelo can almost be seen. After he
pours out his heart to her, and she rejects him, he calmly counts out
the money and then suddenly swoops over her and backhands the money
at her with such force you can almost hear it hitting her! The scene
takes my breath away no matter how often I see it.
For our Don Jose at the Met, In bocca al lupo, Marcelo!
