Arunachalam shared with us a problem at a school.
To further explore the problem and to discover possible solutions, I suggest
you try Project 400.
This is something I am doing in my city and here is how it works:
100 Classrooms - Visit 100 classrooms to see how teachers are teaching and
how students are participating in those classes.
100 Dorm rooms - Visit 100 students in their dorms to see how they live and
how they feel about learning English, how they spend their free time, how
100 Graduates - Visit 100 students who have graduated to see how they use
their English and how they don't use their English in their jobs.
100 Bosses - Talk to 100 of the students' bosses to find out what kind of
English is needed and what kind is not needed.
The Project 400 research project has given me new understanding about my job
and completely changed how I teach my students.
