I was asked to name the five bigges influences on my comics.
This is what I wrote:
Jasper Johns for the collage objects, the sense of fun, anything
goes, painting outside the lines.
The Malofiej Infographics Awards publishes books with some of
the best visual story-telling in them. The Argentinians really know
how to draw a bus or plane crash.
H.P. Lovecraft got me busted when I was about ten -- they
thought that book with "LOVECRAFT" in big letters on the front
was some kind of sex manual -- "the Craft of Love."
Hunter S. Thompson for blurring fact and fiction, sticking it to the
man, having fun and being willing to die while doing it.
Dave McKean was the one that showed me that there was no
reason I was keeping my "fine art" and my "comics" separated.
Oh, shit, that's five already and I haven't mentioned Gandhi.
