Did you know that the Phoenix chapter of the American Recorder Society
is over 50 years old? We have found old chapter records that go back to
1959! Since 2003 we’ve been known as the “Desert Pipes.”
Please join the Desert Pipes for a celebration of our first half-century!
Our 50th anniversary party will feature special guests from our
chapter’s history and performances by the Desert Pipes and others. We’ll
conclude with a giant play-in led by former directors of our chapter,
open to all! Bring your instruments and music stands if you’d like to
join the play-in.
Our anniversary party is also a celebration of the American Recorder
Society’s annual March activity “Play-the-Recorder Month” for 2010.
Our celebration is free and open to the public. We welcome young and
old, beginners and veterans, players and listeners.
Come join us to hear, play, and enjoy the recorder!
