I am an occasional volunteer with the Alberta Genealogical Society. I
saw your query on the AFHS dist-gen news group.
As you probably know, William and John (and later Theresa) are listed in
several Henderson's City Directories. I found them in 1910, 1921, 1927,
1932 and 1937 (not in 1909).
Earlier on, Wm. and John were listed under Edgar Bros Meat Market (1910)
and Edgar Meat Co Ltd (1921) all on the north side of Edmonton. John
was also a salesman with P Burns and Co - a big local meat packer. By
1927 (the year William died) he was listed as a grocer. John appears to
be working as a real estate manager for F B Matthews Co Ltd. I don't
know what business that was.
In 1932, a John was proprietor of Jack's Quality Meats on Whyte Avenue
(82 Avenue) on the south side and in 1937 he was with David C Sands
Meats (close to downtown) and living on 85 Avenue not far from where
Theresa was working as a housekeeper on 78 Avenue.
EDGARs - William Henry, Theresa Augusta and Julius Thomas (a son? born
1927) are buried in plot 089,018 in Beechmount Cemetery. Death dates
are given on the marker as 4-Sep-1927 (William age 45), 4-Sep 1958
(Theresa age 67)and 1980 (Julius). Internment for Julius was shown in
the records as 12-Sep-1980).
I was unable to find a marriage for Wm/Theresa in the 1908-1910 Edmonton
marriage records lodged at the Provincial Archives of Alberta. Perhaps
if you had information on their eldest child, that would narrow the
search. Otherwise the family should be listed in the 1911 Canada Census
records whenever they are released.
I hope this is of some interest.

William and John (Jack) Edgar arrived in Canada in 1906 and in Edmonton
in 1907. They were butchers and
worked on the southside.
Jack was married to Ruth and had twins. William married Theresa who was
born in Clinton, Iowa.
They lived at 13204-66 Street, Edmonton, Alberta at time of death for 20
years and had eleven children.
I am trying to find out where and when they were married.
If anyone can help - I'd be eternally grateful.
