We have our own website - AVRM.org
The VRM Roundtable was formed about a year ago and a Taskforce of over
120 people from around the country formed teams to work on various
aspects of the new organization. The intent was, that while we
appreciate and remember the work of AVA, that we find out what volunteer managers need for today and in the future. The result of the years work was AVRM. We were incorporated on March 5th of this year.
I hope you will visit the site and welcome.

Subject: CyberVPM: New web site for Association for Volunteer
Does anyone know if they are still around and if so, what their new
web site is? Also, are there any resources available for finding new
volunteers who want to work at home?

After the demise of AVA, the Congress of Volunteer Administrator
Associations (COVAA) was held. It was the first-ever convening of
official representatives of existing associations of volunteer
program managers throughout the United States. Through these
delegates, over 6,000 people were represented. A two day process of
thoughtful dialogue ensued which was carefully facilitated. At the
Congress, which met during December 2006 in Denver, two important
votes were passed:
1) A new national entity will be created
2) The entity will be a national membership association
The immediate goal of the Congress was to create a working network of
associations with a designated steering committee to, in turn, carry
the organization work forward.
Check out www.covaa.org and let us know if you would like to become
involved with developing a membership driven professional association
that supports our career field in areas of professional development,
resources, certification, and networking through a variety of
affinity groups. We are committed to creating a national,
professional association that meets the current and future needs of
leaders of volunteers.
