I am only getting it this time because I got Weyermann last time and want to try something different. I think Mike said he likes it for his Belgian beers. I use pilsner for Belgians, lagers, even sometimes as a portion of the grist in pale ales or IPA's. But typically I use domestic Pale Ale malt as my base in American ales.

I'm interested in a couple bags of 2-rowI noticed a couple of you signed up for Castle 2-row. Those that did- Is there a reason you went with Castle? Have you tried the (cheaper) Briess and is there a reason you favor Castle over it?Thanks!LandonOn Wed, May 15, 2013 at 2:11 PM, Del Price <delprice2003@...> wrote:

I don't think they all have to be from the same maltster to get the discount. I think as long as we hit 10 or more TOTAL bags in the order we get a discount.
Before I order two sacks of Munich, can I get a confirmation on those who are splitting it with me since I'm going to pay for this upfront. It will be roughly $1/pound and you'll get 22 pounds:
1. Graham B.
2. Tom Peters (already confirmed)
3. Clint Paden (already confirmed)
4. Jeff Henager (already confirmed)
5. Del Price?One sack of Vienna:1. Graham B.2. Jeff H. (already confirmed)3. Andy Tan?

I've added my two bags (one MO and one pils). I'll happily switch brands to get a discount for a similar grain. Not married to Munton's or Weyermann.

We can check with Gerald to see if he is cool with it. I imagine his profit margin is less but maybe he makes up with that in volume. On a related note, Gerald emailed me with this:
We are now setup with CMG for their products.
Some of the guys had mentioned a preference for malt from maltsters they carry.
Is there still an interest in a group buy for these products?
