Our forum for March 4th will feature the movie "Shortbus". This
viewing will be followed by a short discussion. Be advised that the
movie shortbus contains highly graphic material. It is a film
involving sex, comedy and drama.
This blend of content suits the role of our forum. Connections
has always strived to not only connect the community but also the
different aspects of life. I welcome everyone (over the age of 18)
to check out this provacative film. It should inspire some good
discussion. It is a fun and powerful film.
Also, check out future events and groups. Below is information
about the future Rainbow Reading Group.
Hi! Join the Rainbow Reading Group this March for a discussion of
Armistead Maupin's complex mystery, "The Night Listener". The
novel's main character, a gay man at the end of a ten-year
relationship, has made a reputation as a late-night, radio
storyteller. He develops a distant friendship with an abused boy.
The child's situation soon leads to a search for the truth, both in
the boy's life and the main character's.
The group will meet on Wednesday, March 19th, 7 pm, at Capanna
coffee house (on the ped mall, across from the Sheraton). There will
be delicious treats, as well! Remember that there is a "no guilt"
policy. That is, if you do not finish a book by meeting time, no
problem; you can still join in.
