Subject: June 23rd Kite Flying
I'm following up on a conversation you had this morning with Bob McKenna regarding the Grand Opening of the Seekonk Meadows on June 23rd.
He asked me to forward some information about the event, so here it is.
Seekonk Meadows is a park that has been created on 9 acres of land next to the Seekonk Public Library. The site was formerly the
town dump and
it has been transformed into a community gathering space with walking trails, wildflower meadows and an amphitheater for outdoor concerts.
It's a large open space, ideal for kite flying!!
A volunteer group has been working on this for four years and we have scheduled our Grand Opening for June 23rd.
Our plan is to have a ribbon cutting followed by an afternoon of musical performances on the amphitheater stage.
We would love to have a kite flying demonstration be part of the schedule.
Our preliminary timeline is:
12-5 professional kite flying
1 ribbon cutting, followed by a walking tour of the meadows
2-7 a variety of musical performances on the amphitheater stage.
If you need any further information, please contact me at cherylafaria@... of (401-419-8682.
I look forward to hearing from you.
