A conference presented by the IBA Arbitration Committee, supported by the
IBA Latin American Regional Forum and Camara de Comercio de Bogota
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Two months from now, the international arbitration community will gather for what promises to be one of the most successful arbitration events of next year.
16th Annual IBA International Arbitration Day will take place on 21 and 22 February 2013 in Bogota. It is the first time in many years that the IBA will hold its landmark arbitration event in Latin America, a region where arbitration has developed exponentially,
with growing support from courts and governments. Colombia, which has recently adopted the UNCITRAL Model Law, is a prime example of this remarkable evolution. The presence of the President of the Republic of Colombia attests to the wholehearted support that
the IBA and the international arbitration community are receiving in the region.
The Annual IBA International Arbitration Day has long been one of the most well-attended IBA conferences every year. It is a unique opportunity that the conference is taking place in Latin
America and we recommend that any professional involved with alternative dispute resolution attends this premier event.
The conference reception will take place the day before the conference in the extraordinary Museo Botero, a colonial mansion and the native home of one of the
greatest Latin American artists, where many of his most beautiful works are collected.
We hope you make the decision to join the more than 400 participants that are expected in Bogota.
