this is not a core-CoP issue, but rather part of a wider KM or event
agenda, but I wonder if some people have experience with Knowledge
Fairs and may be able to share some info.
One of the CoP I'm involved with (housing professionals specialising
in older people) is planning an event/conference later this year,
with a 'knowledge fair' element. Two main aims of the event are to:
- continue sharing information and good practice that already takes
place with the group (of about 20 people)- but engage and share with
a wider group of people, including professionals from outwith housing
(like health and social services, service users etc)
- create a networking opportunity (on the day and after the event)
that may leed to other events/networks in the future
I read quite a bit about 'knowledge fairs' over the years, have
programmes from some events, and so already have some ideas.
BUT I wonder if there are any interesting articles/books/websites on
this issue that I missed, providing some tips and info about how to
plan and run such a thing? Any leads would be very much appreciated!
OR has anybody run anything similar and is willing to share tips and
experiences: via the group or directly with me?
(Hope all this makes sense - it's VERY hot in England and this
totallly uncharacteristic weather makes lots of people a bit
confused .... including me :o) )
Looking forward to any responses
