I NEED HELP! And those of you who know me well know it's hard for me
to ask for help so you know I really need it! Here is a detailed list of
elements I need help with. If everyone could assist with at least 1, it would
greatly decrease my stress load and Vagina Nightmares and increase the potential
for a KICK ASS V-DAY!!
For nights of The Vagina Monologues:
Front of house:
need a box office/house manager (will be responsible for getting audience in
their seats and in charge of ticket sales - keeping up with how many seats we
have left and what not. This can be 2 people's jobs if we have enough
need someone to run the sound board (it's a very simple set up, basically
"play" and "stop" for pre and post-show music).
FOR CAST MEMBERS or NON-CAST MEMBERS
I need someone
who can coordinate with the folks who will have info booths at the
performance (Peaceful Paths, Chrysalis Community, CodePINK) to make sure tables
are set up for them, etc.
someone to be the "catering manager" of sorts for the reception after Saturday
night's show (we hope to get the food for free so this job will also
involve asking places for free Pizza, etc.) This will also involve
obtaining paper products (napkins, plates, utensils). THIS JOB REALLY
NEEDS TO BE FILLED! PLEASE!!
someone to be responsible for making sure things get cleaned up in the Social
Hall after the reception on Saturday night. You will not be expected to do all
of the cleaning, just to rally the troops to make sure it gets cleaned.
For the most part, the actors will double as the ushers since we will be "part
of the audience" (I'll explain at rehearsal for thoes cast members who haven't
heard this yet) but if anyone else would like to usher you are definitely needed
CAST MEMBERS or NON-CAST MEMBERS
FOR THE BENEFIT CONCERT on FEB 18th
need someone to be the liaison the night of the show between the bands
and the Sidebar crew to make sure they get set up on time, etc.
will need someone to coordinate with any sponsors or beneficiaries who will
have info they want displayed. I know CodePINK has a banner to hang.
manage the money we get from the door. The first $150 goes to The
Side Bar to cover costs but the rest is ours!
Someone to hang
out at the door during the show and answer questions about V-Day,
ANYONE "WORKING" AN EVENT WILL GET TO SEE THAT EVENT FOR
HELP US PROMOTE V-DAY!
* Posters should be ready SOON for The Vagina Monologues and for the
Benefit Concert and they need to be distributed WIDELY!
* Blog and Bulletin the Myspace Events (go to www.myspace.com/vdaygainesville
for links to Events). If you're on Facebook or Friendster, create an event there
* Tell all your friends, fellow students, co-workers and family.
* Post in local discussion groups and online forums.
