Well it finally happened here after over a month hiatus.
Ok now it wasn't a huge event but there was 0.03 inches in the CoCoRaHS gauge here this morning. The last measurable rainfall I had was back on July 3rd. That is a pretty long stretch for no moisture here in Southeast Tacoma but it has happened before and undoubtly will happen again.
What are the driest months in Tacoma all time for July? here is a list of them.
1985 0.00 inches
1984 0.00 inches
1958 0.00 inches
1944 0.00 inches
This year McChord Air Force Base was well outside the top 5 for July driest months with a total of 0.36 inches. I had 0.44 inches here in Southeast Tacoma over the same period. The average for the month of July at McChord is 0.77 inches for the period of 1940 to 2010.
Oh yah! Just in case your wondering what the wettest year was, that was 1955 with 2.62 inches.
