Pardon the interruption, since this is not "West" -- but many of the leading figures and quite a few rank and file ended up there. . .
There are less than 10 seats remaining for the Civil War Forum's 15th annual battlefield conference (March 31-April 3). All are welcome. This year it's the Seven Days battles, with Robert E. L. Krick, historian at Richmond National Battlefield Park. Registration ($295) gives you two full days of bus tours of the Seven Days with Bobby Krick (Friday/Saturday, April 1-2), a 3-hour Thursday afternoon tour (Mar 31) of Hollywood Cemetery with author Chris Ferguson, and a Sunday morning (Apr 3) visit to Drewry's Bluff and Battery Dantzler.
Registration includes delicious lunches on Friday & Saturday, and full buffet dinners Friday and Saturday with after-dinner speakers (Bobby Krick on Friday night, and John Coski, historian at the Museum of the Confederacy on Saturday night). Money over expenses will be donated to Civil War Trust.
