The �American Flyer� to Washington, DC via the

American Rail Excursions and Powhatan Rail Services
are offering the prime tour for NRHS, R&LHS, 20th
Century RR Club and RPCA members to attend Star
Spangled Rails � the National Railway Historical
Society and Railway and Locomotive Historical Society
Convention in Baltimore and/or sightsee in Washington,
DC. The trip is very flexible. Passengers may do any
combination of the available attractions/excursions.
Our tour includes five very deluxe private railroad
cars including a scenic vista dome, a round end
observation, a diner and two sleepers.
A Bon Voyage Party is included as are all meals
enroute and breakfast each day while parked in
Washington�s Union (Amtrak) Station. Our sleepers
provide your convention lodging. No hotel costs. No
hassle of checking into and out of hotels. Very
frequent, inexpensive Amtrak and MARC trains will take
you to Baltimore. Alternatively, you can spend some
nights in the convention hotel in Baltimore and some
aboard our slepers. We have several optional tours
available including Mount Vernon, Monticello, Colonial
Williamsburg and Twilight Washington.
A limited number of rooms are available �ensuite�.
There is a partition that can be opened up between
double bedrooms. The whole appears to be larger than
the sum of the parts. The partition can be open or
closed at night for sleeping.
Your hosts will be Roger Verbeeren, Jr. and Frank
Corley, both with many years of successful and
enjoyable excursions. You may join our tour at any
point along the route between Dearborn, MI (or
environs) and Chicago and along the �Cardinal� route
between Chicago and Washington, DC.
