Q: What is Yourmusic.com?
A: Yourmusic.com is a new music service that offers all the CDs in
their catalog for the low price of $5.99 (this price also includes
shipping costs). When you sign up you select at least one CD from
their catalog and your credit/debit card is charged $5.99 per CD.
Once you receive your first CD you can continue to use their
service, and order unlimited CDs for $5.99, or cancel at anytime.
Q: How does signing up for this service through JamesDeem.com allow
you to give away your new CD for FREE!
A: I get a commission from Yourmusic.com for everyone that joins
through my Web site. That commission covers the cost of my CD and
the cost of shipping it to you. So at the very least, you get my CD
and any other major-label CD from their catalog for only $5.99. If
you like their service, which is a great new service in my opinion,
you can keep your membership and continue to order CDs from their
catalog. Basically, I feel this is a great deal and a great "no
risk" way to get my music out there and into your hands.
Of course, if you don't want to join Yourmusic.com to get my CD you
can also pre-order it at my Web site for $10 using your credit card,
debit card, or PayPal account at my Web site. I use PayPal as a
third-party to process online payments so it's secure, convenient,
and you don't even have to have a PayPal account to place an order.
If you have listened to my album, then I want to know what you
think! Send your review to me, however long or short, and you will
receive a free MP3 download. The song will be a special surprise
track that will not be available on the CD. For now, this will be
the only way to get this track. I'm not going to tell you the title
of this surprise track, only that it was also produced by Jamie
Hoover and features performances by both Jamie and Carl Rosen.
FREE MP3 DOWNLOADS
For those of you that haven't downloaded MP3s of all 10 tracks from
my album you better act soon. Once the CD is released I will be
removing the MP3s from my site. Certain tracks will still be
featured but not all at the same time.
The CD is on its way. I'm shooting for a late May/early June release
date. I need to finalize the artwork at this point and once that's
done it will be pressed and will ship ASAP. The artwork is very
important to me since it can be the first visual representation of
my work to some people. FYI, the artwork featured at my Web site is
only temporary and not at all what the final artwork will look like.
My songs continue to get radio airplay since I released my album on
my Web site for digital download back on January 10, 2006. This is
amazing to me considering that I haven't even pressed one CD yet.
Charlie Saber at WRUW 91.1 FM in Cleveland, OH has played "I'm Not
over You" on 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, "The Way She Loves Me" on 2/28, and "I
Hear Your Heart Calling" on 3/14. Charlie has great taste in music
and I don't just say that because he's been playing my stuff, but
more so based on the other artists featured in his show. If you
don't live in the Cleveland, OH area you can download an MP3 archive
of his show each week at www.wruw.org.
Divakar Shukla at New Rock 1065 The End (WEND 106.5 FM) in
Charlotte, NC played "It Stands to Reason" on 2/5. Divakar's show,
90 Minutes, features local and regional artists and airs each Sunday
from 9:00-10:30 PM. www.1065.com
Special thanks to Blaine for featuring my song "It Stands to Reason"
alongside other artists like Concrete Blonde, Vertical Horizon,
Toto, The Alarm, The Tubes, Todd Rundgren, and The Smiths on his
MySpace Web page MP3 player. Not only is it cool to be featured in
someone's online playlist, but it's even more cool when someone
features my songs alongside great and legendary artists like these.
Kudos Blaine! http://www.myspace.com/tunesandbeers
I'm thrilled to announce that I've been playing with a band and that
we'll soon be playing "live" music in and around the Charlotte, NC
area. David Reber (drums, vocals), Rob Reber (guitar, vocals), Cleve
Johnson (bass, vocals), and I (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards,
etc.) have been rehearsing material for a few months now.
In addition to my original material we'll working on songs by groups
the 60s (The Beatles, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Van Morrison, The
Rolling Stones, The Who, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young);
the 70s (Cheap Trick, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Billy Joel, Kiss,
Queen, Ramones, Rush, Styx, and Van Halen);
the 80s (BoDeans, Marshall Crenshaw, The Knack, John Mellencamp,
Eddie Money, Night Ranger, The Romantics, The Smithereens, Rick
Springfield, and U2);
the 90s (Collective Soul, Creed, Gin Blossoms, Green Day, The La's,
Lenny Kravitz, Nirvana, The Poises, and Weezer);
and today (Bowling for Soup, Fountains of Wayne, Hoobastank, Jet,
Nickelback, Silvertide, The Strokes, and The Vines).
I feel very fortunate and blessed to be able to play with these
guys. I've already told them, but I want all of you to know how much
I appreciate their willingness to play the songs I've written. I
never expected, even as recently as last summer when I completed
this project, that I'd be entertaining the idea of being able to go
out and play my songs with a band. At the most I expected to be
playing these songs acoustically at coffeehouses by myself and that
would be nothing near the "high energy" rock and roll we pull off as
a band which is what really warms my soul.
I've started a MySpace Web page at http://www.myspace.com/jamesdeem.
There's not much there yet, but it's another place to listen and
download my music.
I've also started a Podcast that's featured in the iTunes directory.
This is yet another place to listen and download my music. In iTunes
go to the Music Store, click on Podcasts, and search for "james
deem" in all podcasts.
Thanks again to all of you for your support!
