A reminder that Sounds of Concord will be offering free* group voice classes for men who sing and who also wish to become better singers. If you are a guy or know a guy who enjoys singing, this is a great program!
The program will consist of 4 classes starting this Thursday April 29th, and continuing on May 6th, 13th, 20th.
A short session for registration, class overview, and determination of voice range will be held April 29th, 7:00pm at Temple Emunah , 9 Piper Road in Lexington Mass. (off Waltham Street) . The first lesson will follow after that session.
Classes will be taught by Steve Tramack, former director of the Nashua Granite Statesmen, and Baritone of Breakaway, a Top 5 quartet in the Northeastern District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.sing Topics will include breath support, improving resonance, vowel matching, and other methods to improve vocal production. Music will be taught using learning tracks / CD-Roms, so you don't have to read music!
Attendees will learn harmony parts to “In My Room” and “The Star Spangled Banner” and then have an opportunity in the latter part of the evening to practice them with the group as an ensemble. Then on June 12th they will be invited to sing the National Anthem with harmony singers from all over New England at the Pawtucket Red Sox game in Rhode Island .
