The UCSB Women's Center presents: Body, Space, and the Creative Process: Five Artist's Perspectives
These five second-year MFA students will present a program about how their individual approach to the creative process involves tactile relationships with their materials and how the viewer is invited to interact with their artworks. This discussion will inform us about how these women are working in disparate ways with the intersections of the body, space, and hand-i-craft. They represent contemporary iterations of issues explored by their foremothers (women artists) from the ''70's - '90's. We will hear about how they approach their work, and what aspects of gender enter into their creative process, both as subject matter and as women artists.
Friday, November 17, 4 PM, MCCune Room HSSB 6020
