Hi BASE people -
I've begun collecting material for a radio presentation on soundscapes of the San Francisco Bay Area. The idea is to air raw field recordings, and also composed pieces, with a minimum of talking and other "packaging." The area of focus is simply soundscapes real or imagined which originate in the geographic area of the SF Bay. This includes animals, weather, water, any human activity, essentially anything that can be heard in the environment whether urban, rural, or something else.
To that end, I'm soliciting recordings and finished works. Short is fine, so is long.
Got anything you'd like to share? Let me know. If you like, send stuff or post files and send a link.
If you're interested in expaining or annotating your sounds, you could either record yourself doing so, or write some small script which we can read.
The piece airs (if that's the right term) on Feb 22, 7-9pm EASTERN TIME (that's 4-6pm Pacific) online on free103point9.org
a transmission arts organization based out of New York City. We'll likely podcast the show as well.
I'm collecting material now - please send via yousendit, post someplace and send a link, or contact me to arrange FTP or another method. Lossless or uncompressed preferred.
Deadline for material is Friday Feb 13 please.
