Yep, fortunately there is ;-)
You can easyly use a text filter like SED (Stream EDitor) for this.
Supposing you want to copy just the files beginning with any letter
between 'a-k' from the current directory to 'myfolder' in c:
Type this line (hope you have a 'sed' somewhere on your path ;-)):
dir/b | sed -n "/^[a-k]/p;s/^/copy /p;s/$/ c:\\myfolder/p" > copy.bat
...and then execute the generated 'copy.bat' and this is all.
