The Accelerating Change Conference is coming to our backyard:
Thursday and Friday, July 17-18, 2003 Tressider Union, Stanford
University, Palo Alto. If you like the themes that we are covering at
our Futurist Salon, you will enjoy this conference too.
The date and place is chosen wisely to coincide with the World Future
Society's Annual Conference which will happen that weekend in San
John Smart and his team in LA, which I am supporting from here, have
put together quite an interesting agenda. I am specifically looking
forward to the group genius event on Thursday evening. It was mind
expanding the last time I took part in one at a Foresight Institute
Confirmed keynote speakers:
Ray Kurzweil inventor, writer, deep thinker. We opened up the Bay
Area Futurist Salon last year in April with his book: The age of
spiritual machines. Check out his website too:
very good stuff.
Steve Jurvetson, Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
For me Steve is the most future aware venture capitalist. (Not that I
know too many VCs) If you want to find out what you can expect from
him, check this audio interview he gave last year on success today
Unfortunately the early bird special ended yesterday on the first of
March, but John and I agreed, that we will make an exception. If you
register for the event by Sunday the 9th of March mentioning Bay
Area Futurist Salon, you still get the discounted rates.
It is going to be great, hope to see you all there, Mark.
