Chorale member who passed away during the past year.
The San Jose Peace Chorale was founded in 1988 -- the "dream child" of
long-time San Jose peace activist Genie Bernardini and is composed of
singers of varied backgrounds whose purpose is to spread the message of
peace and justice through song. The group's ethnically diverse members
are old and young, gay and straight. They include a former World War II
bomber pilot, teachers, nurses, high-tech professionals, non-profit
activists, and many others. They share a vision of:
** Bringing together people of all kinds
** Presenting spirited, beautiful, excellent music
** Supporting struggles for peace, freedom, equality and justice at home
and throughout the world
** Cherishing the Earth and working to preserve the environment
