To answer your question, yes there are studies that prove the toxicity of
aspartame. Go to www.dorway.com/nomarkle.html and read the Trocho Study
which shows the formaldehyde accumulates in the cells and damages DNA with
a good deal of toxicity in the liver and substantial amounts in the
kidneys, adipose tissue, retina and brain.
Then go back to www.dorway.com and read Dr. Walton's peer reviewed
research. You will notice almost 100 per cent of INDEPENDENT studies not
controlled or financed by industry show problems from aspartame. Also note
the FDA's own report of 92 documented symptoms from 4 types of seizures to
coma and death.
Also read the FDA's own audit, the Bressler Report, to know aspartame was
never proven safe. The Board of Inquiry report is very long although we
have it, but the summary is on www.dorway.com telling the FDA not to
approve it. The FDA should have listened.
Click on the skull and crossbones and read the major crimes it took to
approve aspartame and the IFIC brochure with Monsanto's propaganda rebutted
with medical references. You're a pharmacist so you know all this baloney
about a little bit of methanol and such is baloney - its one molecule of
aspartic acid to one molecule of methanol to one molecule of
phenylalanine. Aspartic acid is an excitotoxin and the famed John Olney,
M.D., who founded the field of neuroscience known as excitotoxicity did
studies on aspartic acid in l970. He told the original manufacturer it
caused lesions in the brains of mice but the manufacturer did not tell the
FDA until after aspartame was approved. Wood alcohol or methanol is a
severe metabolic poison, a neurotoxin, which converts to formaldehyde and
then formic acid and causes metabolic acidosis. Phenylalanine because it
is an isolate, and at 50% goes directly into the brain because there are
not the other amino acids in protein to block it. It lowers the seizure
threshold and depletes serotonin. Lowered serotonin triggers manic
depression, suicidal tendencies, panic attacks, anxiety, paranoia, rage, etc.
Then aspartame breaks down into a witches brew of toxins including
diketopiperazine, a brain tumor agent. In original studies aspartame
triggered brain, mammary, uterine, ovarian, testicular and pancreatic
tumors for starters and grand mal seizures. There are doctor's books on
the web site which will tell you even more.
Aspartame is a drug which originally had a drug application and was
withdrawn in favor of it being marketed as an additive requiring no safety
monitoring. This was also a crime as an additive by law has to be
inert. Aspartame is about as inert as a forest fire! It changes brain
chemistry and interacts with other drugs.
For instance, Michael Fox, a Diet Pepsi spokesman, an informant said is
addicted - using 12 to 14 Diet Pepsi's a day. It triggers Parkinson's
which he has, and then it changes the dopamine level of brain interacting
with L-Dopa - which is has. It is escalating Alzheimers and memory loss is
#11 on the FDA report. Dr. H. J. Roberts has declared Aspartame Disease to
be a world epidemic and has just compelted for publishing a medical text on
the world plague - 800 pages! See his own books on www.sunsentpress.com
and you can get neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock's book, Excitotoxins: The
Taste That Kills on amazon.com
Dr. Roberts has written position papers on some of the problems - you
should print it out. It, for instance, destroys the central nervous system
and mimics MS. It makes you go blind. It precipitates diabetes, keeps
blood sugar out of control and causes diabetics to go into
convulsions. Now you know why so many are on insulin pumps. Get them off
aspartame and watch their blood sugar level out and many times become normal!
