*Objective of the Book*
The aim of this proposal is to show recent and novel applications of
Soft Computing in the field of energy, specially Renewable Energy and
Energy Efficiency. To be precise, this book is aimed at gathering
results and conclusions associated with the applications of Soft
Computing to different technological environments within these fields
and showing the technical superiority of the solutions provided.
The work will provide both researchers and practitioners with a
catalogue of the most successful Soft Computing methodologies applied to
Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

Soft Computing Applications in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency:
- Energy Renewable Resources: Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Biomass, Biogas,
Biofuels, Hydropower, Hydrogen and Ocean (wave, tidal,...).
- Applications in Renewable Energy.
- Applications in Efficiency Energy.
- Applications and Services of Renewable Energy in Rural Areas, Isolated
Areas, Buildings, Industry, Electricity and Transport
- Policy of Environmental Impact and Sustainability: Economic aspects,
Environmental impact, ...
- Others: Smart Cities, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Measurement and
Verification of Energy Savings, ...
Potential contributors are invited to submit by August 30, 2013, a short
chapter proposal (up to 200 words) clearly explaining the mission and
concerns of his/her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will
be notified by September 6, 2013, and they will be invited to submit an
extended proposal (2-3 pages) by September 30. The finally accepted
chapter proposals will be notified by October 10th. Full chapters are
expected to be submitted by December 30, 2013. All submitted chapters
will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also
be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
