Dear Art Educators, Many of you may find Tate Museum In Focus of Interest: http://www.tate.org.uk/learning/learnonline/infocus.htm I discovered Grayson PerryMessage 1 of 1 , Apr 3, 2005View SourceDear Art Educators,
Many of you may find Tate Museum In Focus of Interest:
I "discovered" Grayson Perry while browsing.
"Perry is best known for his ceramic works:
classically shaped vases covered with figures,
patterns and text. The revealing and often dark
subject matter depicted on these pots is at first
disguised by their colourful, decorative appearance.
His chosen topics include autobiographical images of
himself, his transvestite alter ego Claire, and his
family, as well as references to political events and
an investigation of cultural stereotypes."
Here is his web site:
Not all images are suitable for classroom viewing -
but you could select a few (as fair use allows). Some
of his work may offend you.
I will be adding a link to Tate (but not to Perry's
site). Some of his work may spark some meaningful high
school ceramic art - focusing on decoration
