This shouldn't be off-topic. While writing the other posts today,
rec'd an email from Ancient American Artifact Preservation Foundation
(AAAPF) conference secretary, Judy Johnson, urging all to vote on the
possible contamination which will continue at Yellow Dog Plains and
the Yellow og and Salmon Trout Rivers in Upper Michigan. I took the
TV poll and sadly, results show 69% in favor of the sulfide mining
plan which will bring addl jobs to the area:
from Judy today):
Here's a place to cast your opinion 'vote' for the TV 6 poll on
whether you support the Kennecott Sulfide mining plan on the Yellow
Dog Plains, up near Big Bay and Huron Mountain Club, that WILL
endanger our waterways, trees, fish and wildlife. Then consider the
many acres of devastation to the wild lands in the digging!
We have friends who live and have camps in the very direct area, and
they will indeed be affected. The Yellow Dog River and the Salmon
Trout River are in high danger of contamination too.
Now that you have heard my unbiased opinion, you can go to the TV 6
poll and vote too.
Scroll way down and it's on the right side. You don't need to live
here to vote. Just know that it's too beautiful and too precious to
put in this jeopardy.
