I personally use a home brew USB hardware decoder. Works great. I forget where the sources came from but they are free. Google it.

Has anybody done any work on getting AISMon to run on a Raspberry Pi?
What language is AISMon written in?
Where can I get a copy of the sourcecode?
As AIS transmits on two different VHF frequencies, and most soundcards have stereo inputs (left and right), would it be possible to rewrite AISMon to handle both audio inputs (L and R) and merge the decoded NMEA data?
