I don't know how hard/easy that is for various aggregators, but perhaps it wouldn't be too hard for them of allow you to check/uncheck a box specifying the aggregator as the default handler for that content-type. Kinda like the browsers already do with html. Also, worst case - with most browsers you can right-click and save as the link as a text file.

As RSS gets more popular, I think the percentage of people who want to
actually view source will become very small, and they'll likely be
technically savvy enough to right-click-save-as. Or maybe someone could
write standard components for Mozilla and IE that allow you to
right-click-view-source (on a link, not the current document), which forces
the browser to override helper applications for whatever content-type that
link sends. Then aggregator developers could bundle those components in with
