Hello again! On the day after, the success of last night’s St. Louis Section AES meeting and dinner event celebrating the graduation of the audio engineeringMessage 1 of 1 , May 3, 2011View Source
On the day after, the success of last night’s St. Louis Section AES meeting and dinner event celebrating the graduation of the audio engineering class of 2011 is still ringing. Thank you to everyone who participated, especially to the members who financed the graduates’ dinner checks with their donations! Many of us just couldn’t bring ourselves to leave as the lively discussions continued well after the meeting adjourned. It was fun, educational, and energizing to spend some time with a group so committed to Audio. Congratulations to Lee Buckalew, who will take over Secretary responsibilities as Joel Conrad heads to Washington D.C. for a new audio job, and to Eric Chancey, who has been named new Events Committee Chairman.
Thanks also to CJ Mugg’s for the fine meal, attentive service, and flexibility to add more seats for the great turnout of AES members, both student and professional. Many of the graduates who attended plan to sign up as members of our professional section, and we invite all graduating students to upgrade soon to AES Associate Membership (in the St. Louis Section, of course!) Remember that there is a one-year “recent graduate” membership discount for dues- go to aes.org for more information.
Excitement in our still-emerging section continues to build as we grow larger, stronger, and find new ways to follow our mission statement. Justin Fisher’s Public Relations/Member Services committee and Eric Chancey’s Events Committee are already hard at work making plans for future activities, and we encourage everyone to get involved - contact any officer or committee chairman to find out how you can help. The next meeting is scheduled for July 11, so please join us.
Until then, we’ll keep the aesstl.org website and St. Louis Regional AES facebook page updated.
And of course anyone can participate via our Yahoo Group: aespro. We’ll continue to post messages to that email list as well.
See you July 11. Have a great Spring!
Bill Schulenburg, Chairman
