Subject: [Acoustic Guitarist Guild] Re: Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
I too had tingling, numbness of the fingers and pain at night in my
left hand. My doctor ordered testing and I was diagnosed with severe
carpel tunnel syndrome in the hand and advanced in the right. I've had
surgery on the left and the results are good, not perfect. I'm yet to
have the right hand done, that will be soon. The surgeon warned me that
if left untreated the pain goes away because the nerves are dead. The
damage is irreversable and will result in clawing of the hand and
paralysis. My advice is to see a doctor and don't waste time like I
did. I've been playing a guitar for 45 years and I don't want to stop.
