I am interested to participate in the Battle of Fort George event. As a blacksmith I have been on some of the1812 event.
The most recent was in the Winterfest in Midland. You can ask David Brunelle about me, he saw my setup, and know
how I work. About myself, I have beeen working in the past two years at Black Creek Pioneer Village as a blacksmith interpreter.
I really enjoy to work with people and kids. I have all the period equipment (coal forge, hand crank blower etc.) and clothing.
Including barrier to ensure the safety of the public. I'm alone not affiliated with any group. Please let me know if you need a blacksmith,
and send me some information about th event.

Well, I have finally jumped through the last administrative hoop and the registration packages are finally good to go. Registration can be done online at:
This is the same website that was used for registration for the Battle of Queenston Heights last October. This link is available for re-enactors only and cannot be accessed by the public through the visit1812 home page. This is to cut down on "fake" registration being sent to us and to avoid confusion for the public who think they have to register to attend.
Only UNIT COMMANDERS are required to fill out the Registration form for the entire unit. Individuals do not have to fill out the registration unless they are in a unit of just themselves. Upon arrival at the event, every adult unit member must sign an individual volunteer form and include family members. Registration will be located near the Visitor Center directly in front of the Fort. Information about times, food, firepits, amenities and Black Powder regulations regarding Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery can all be found in the Participant Information Package on the registration web page
For Merchants, in addition to the registration form there is a separate Business Licence application that needs to be completed that can be found on the registration web page under Merchant Package.
Licence fee will be $40.00 as usual. All other information is included in the Participant Information Package.
We are planning a very exciting event. The schedule will be provided when you arrive however we are planning to have 2 battles on the weekend and an evening show. The first battle will be on Saturday afternoon. This will be "The Battle of Fort George". There will also be a Battle on Sunday afternoon. Saturday evening we are planning to commemorate the "Bombardment of Fort George" (25 May 1813).
This will be an Artillery feature inside the fort that will include Lights, Sound, Pyro and Fireworks!!!
The Fort will be providing a Breakfast Lunch and Dinner on Saturday as well as a Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday. Please also indicate on your registration if there are any demonstrations that you would like to perform and we will include them on the schedule (Music, Surgery, ect...). Once again we will be giving away prizes for best death, longest distance travelled and a random door prize (sorry Jim, I hope I didn't steal your thunder AGAIN).
