Gentlemen and Ladies,
At the end of this message, for your present and future planning, are theUPDATED AND FINAL dates of War of 1812 Bicentennial events at Old FortNiagara, projected through 2015. Some dates have changed from thosepreviously in circulation. Please mark your calendars accordingly.
IMPORTANT: Please note that Old Fort Niagara now electronically distributes and collects all information for reenactment units wishing to participate inevents at the at the fort. This is done through a Yahoo group.
If your unit wishes to receive information, registration materials, etc.,regarding reenactment events at Old Fort Niagara you, or another designated representative for your unit, MUST join the appropriate Old Fort Niagara Yahoo group(s) for the period your unit portrays.

*September 3-4, 2011 (Labor Day Weekend) -- ANNUAL WAR OF 1812 ENCAMPMENT
*September 1-2, 2012 (Labor Day Weekend) -- ANNUAL WAR OF 1812 ENCAMPMENT
*November 17-18, 2012 -- AMERICAN GARRISON WKND / Betsy Doyle Day &
Artillery Salute on 11/18. Commemorating the 21 November 1812 artillery exchange between Fort Niagara and Fort George, from which arose the heroine, Betsy Doyle.
*August 31-September 1, 2013 (Labor Day Weekend) -- ANNUAL WAR OF 1812
ENCAMPMENT, CAPTURE OF FORT NIAGARA 200TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION.
*December 18-19, 2013 -- 200th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION OF THE CAPTURE OF FORT NIAGARA. Proposed to recreate as closely as possible the events as they happened in "real" time, including a possible early morning boat landing and march from Four Mile Meadow to the fort, followed by the daybreak capture of the fort and its garrison and concluding with a brief memorial ceremony.
August 30-31, 2014 (Labor Day Weekend) -- ANNUAL WAR OF 1812 ENCAMPMENT
May 22, 2015 -- COMMEMORATIVE PROGRAM marking the reoccupation of Fort
Niagara by US troops
August 29-30, 2015 (Labor Day Weekend) -- ANNUAL WAR OF 1812 ENCAMPMENT
In addition to the calendar above, in lieu of our usual "Cabin Fever Lecture Series" which we routinely run one Saturday a month from January through April, we are considering a one-time only "conference" weekend of presentations by popular author/historians probably in April and possibly as soon as 2011. This is funding-dependent. Details TBA.
