Writing Poetry 77
It happens like this.
Suddenly we are peering into the center
where possibility emerges.
The call to manifest the word
gets too insistent to be ignored.
Momentum becomes the velocity of semblance.
Symbols and the signs begin to fortune tell.
Soul explores itself with a reverse archaeology.
We dig for present meaning
using tools not discovered yet.
We sit at the loom of imagination.
Turning where it unwinds;
seeking a pattern
to interpret as this moment’s reality.
The poet spins her yarn
and weaves out a texture.
A fleeting tapestry of the timeless.
Then something is done--
and at rest again.
