As Seneschal of Ketelblastr and as a representative of the SCA, I wish to apologize to your sister-in-law- to-be (the same apology extends out to your daughter my Lady Finna), the rudeness of that one lady was completely unexcusable and downright unexemplory of how a SCAdian should comport themselves, especialy before new members and spectators. I understand that family comes first and were I in your shoes, I might have done the same thing. I honestly had a good mind to have a talk with her, but as a forming group, I need to watch my P's and Q's and choose my battles wisely. Starting a quarrel over someone's rudeness on another group's soil would not have made us look good...so instead let us forgive and forget and even better..learn from the experience. :)
Again, all I can ask is that you do not let the actions of some folk taint your views of the SCA and its members, Just like any other organization, you get a few rotton apples mixed in with the good ones. Mayhaps you could bring your S-I-L-to-be to Ketelblastr one day and we could show her the same hospitality and warmth that my group offers that you have experienced.
As for your generous offer to help with duties at Road to the Isle, your help would be most graciously accepted, and yes, you could most certainly ride with someone from up here. Kathryn and I would most certainly be able to provide crash space in our abode should you like as well.
May Finnish winds fill your sails

But we needed to put family first. I hope that all of you that were in attendance had a most wonderful time. Rick and I look forward to the next time we can meet up with you. Hopefully it will be in the near future.
